Panel to Address International Employment Issues

March 16, 2010 — Immigration specialists at the University of Virginia are holding a panel discussion Wednesday about the process of employing international workers at the University.

The one-hour discussion, which begins at 10 a.m. in the Commonwealth Room in Newcomb Hall, will address several issues, including how to handle U.S. Department of Homeland Security audits, visas and immigration processing guidelines that affect some types of green cards.

Specialists from Compliance and Immigration Services and the International Studies Office will be available to answer questions. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with specific questions about employment issues for foreign nationals.

Interested parties are asked to RSVP to Christine Langford at crf6b@virginia.edu. Specific questions can also be e-mailed ahead of time. The event is free. Refreshments will be provided.
