U.Va. President to Give Keynote Address at Local NAACP Sept. 13

University of Virginia President Teresa A. Sullivan will deliver the keynote address at Friday’s annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet,to be held at the Charlottesville Doubletree Hotel. A silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30.

M. Rick Turner, president of the local chapter of the NAACP, invited Sullivan to speak. “She is an effective and influential leader in our community and seems to want to become more involved in other aspects of the community, including social justice and the NAACP,” he said. “We are delighted to have her.”
