U.Va.’s The Fralin Museum of Art Hosts Final Friday Reception Jan. 25

The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia will host its first Final Friday reception of 2013 on Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on the opening day of the museum’s spring exhibitions.

Guests will enjoy refreshments and special exhibitions “Corot to Cézanne: French Drawings from the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts,” “Traces of the Hand: Master Drawings from the Collection of Frederick and Lucy S. Herman,” “Becoming the Butterfly: Landscapes of James McNeill Whistler” and “STrAY: Found Poems from a Lost Time,” featuring the work of contemporary artist Suzanne McClelland.

The January Final Friday reception will feature live music by Ming Ming.

Admission to Final Friday is free for museum members and for U.Va. students, thanks to Arts$. There is a $3 admission fee for nonmembers. Free parking is available at Culbreth Road Garage and in the A6 parking lot, next to Madison Bowl on Rugby Road.

The Fralin Museum of Art, located at 155 Rugby Road, is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
