A simple ceramic water purification tablet invented at U.Va. that can disinfect water simply by resting in a vessel where water is poured will be introduced Friday during a celebration event.
February 15, 2011 — University of Virginia School of Architecture faculty members received more awards than those of any other university in this year's Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture Awards program.
The following faculty received national awards for architectural education:
July 1, 2010 — Initiative reCOVER, a University of Virginia School of Architecture program to design and build disaster recovery structures, is participating in "Building Back Better Communities/Port au Prince, Haiti." The Haitian government-sponsored international competition is intended to address the need to house 1.3 million people left homeless following the country's Jan. 12 earthquake.

May 5, 2008 — University of Virginia School of Architecture Dean Karen Van Lengen, assistant professor Anselmo Canfora and about 20 students who participated in two design classes focused on researching, designing and fabricating relief structures for those who experience catastrophic events will participate in a symposium in Washington, D.C. on May 6 through 8.
