How To Get Your Ticket on Your Android or iPhone

The University has created step-by-step instructions that show people how to download, transfer and accept tickets.

Cecil Banks is the University’s executive director for major events and external relations. His biggest piece of advice is to make sure everyone has their ticket on their phone before Final Exercises.

He said the graduating student can keep the tickets on their phone and accompany their family to the ticket entry point to scan them in all at once.

Alternately, a single member of the family can download all the tickets to their phone and scan the whole group through at the same time.

Download Tickets

Step 1:
Log into your Virginia Athletics ticket account at VirginiaSports.com /MyAccount.

Step 2:
Scroll down to the ‘My Upcoming Events’ section and tap on the desired event.

Step 3:
Tap the ‘Add to...’ button to add your tickets to your mobile wallet.

Step 4:
In your mobile wallet, tap the ‘Add’ button to save your ticket.

Transfer Tickets

Step 1:
Log into your Virginia Athletics ticket account at VirginiaSports.com /MyAccount.

Step 2:
Tap ‘Transfer Tickets’ on the menu.

Step 3:
Select the event, and then select the tickets you would like to transfer. Tap ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4:
Enter the recipients information and select phone number or email. Tap ‘Review Transfer’ to continue.

Step 5:
Once you have confirmed the information is correct, tap ‘Transfer Ticket’.

Step 6:
You will see a confirmation screen once the tickets have been sent. The recipient will receive the transfer invite via text or email.

Accept Transfer Tickets

Step 1:
Tap the link sent to your text messages or the ‘Accept Transfer’ button in your email.

Step 2:
Review the ticket information and tap the ‘Accept Transfer’ button to continue.

Step 3:
Log in to your Virginia Athletics ticket account or create a new account if you do not have one.

Step 4:
You should now see the ticket in your account. Add the ticket to your mobile wallet by tapping the ‘Add to...’ button.

Selling or bartering of Final Exercise tickets is strictly prohibited and is considered an honor offense that will lead to voided tickets and the case being referred to the Honor Committee.

Finals Weekend

On May 18, students graduating from the College of Arts & Sciences walk the Lawn with graduates from the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and the School of Education and Human Development.

On May 19, the Lawn procession will include graduates from the schools of Law, Medicine, Nursing, Architecture, and Continuing and Professional Studies, as well as the schools of Data Science, Engineering and Applied Science, the Darden School of Business and McIntire School of Commerce.

On each of those days, the three guest entrances at Garrett, Bryan and Rouss & Robertson halls will open at 7 a.m. The Academic Procession and Final Exercises will begin at 9 a.m.

Banks said the new e-ticket system will make it easier for students to transfer tickets to family members and allow professional students who may study remotely to get their tickets without coming to Grounds.

It also helps the University manage the event. “We will know how many people will be on the Grounds for each ceremony and that helps everything from the number of chairs we end up setting up, to concessions and facilities workers that are here, to police,” Banks said. “Ultimately, if we get data that says that we can give out more tickets for future years, then that's an option.”

The University is expecting between 15,000 and 20,000 people to attend each day of Final Exercises.
