Batten Institute Program Requests Proposals by May 1 That Seek Knowledge in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

To help researchers seed, examine and discover new knowledge addressing entrepreneurship and innovation, the University of Virginia Darden School of BusinessBatten Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is offering grants ranging from $2,000 to $20,000. Interested U.Va. faculty members must submit research proposals by May 1.

All U.Va. faculty members are eligible to submit proposals, which may include co-investigators from outside of the U.Va. community. Darden’s Research and Course Development Committee will review all proposals.

Proposals will be judged by the following:

  • Scholarly merit;
  • Connection to entrepreneurship and innovation;
  • Quality of expected contribution to the field;
  • Likelihood of publication;
  • Principal investigator’s past record of research productivity.

All grants awarded should be used between July 1 and June 30, 2014.
