The Perris Jones story has added another chapter – many chapters, actually.
But the first thing the former University of Virginia running back wants to tell you about his memoir, “Ashes to Endzone: The Fight for Identity, Faith, and a Future Bigger Than the Game,” is that it’s not just about football.
“Honestly, man,” Jones said, “I would maybe have to go 15%, and that’s generous.”
Football was the sport Jones played at UVA. It was on a football field in Louisville, Kentucky, where, in his last moment in a Cavalier uniform, Jones suffered a career-ending spinal cord injury in 2023 that threatened his chances of ever walking again.
