Scott Stadium will host a star-studded lineup for Sunday’s Concert for Charlottesville.

On Sunday, thousands will flock to the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium for the Concert for Charlottesville to support their community in the wake of the events of Aug. 11 and 12 and enjoy performances by an impressive roster of star musicians.

To accommodate these crowds, the University has adopted enhanced security measures, including a new clear-bag policy, and has also outlined procedures for parking and transportation.

Guests should review those updates and procedures, explained below, in advance of Sunday’s concert to ensure that traffic flows smoothly and everyone is able to enjoy the show.

Enhanced Security

All attendees will pass through security checkpoints before entering the stadium.

There will be a new clear-bag policy, meaning that all bags must be see-through to allow security personnel to visually inspect the contents. Clear plastic purses, Ziploc bags or other clear bags will be accepted. Opaque bags, backpacks or any bags larger than 12-by-6-by-12 inches will not be allowed. Stadium seats and cushions are allowed as long as they are not stored in bags.

Bags that do not fit these requirements will not be stored by staff and should be left in your vehicle.

Ticket holders may not leave and re-enter on the same ticket.

Signs and banners are prohibited to ensure clear lines of sight for other patrons. Additional prohibited items include weapons, fireworks or confetti of any kind; professional cameras or iPads; aerosol containers; umbrellas; noisemakers or other distracting devices; balls, balloons, Frisbees, sticks and similar items; audio or video recording devices; strollers, containers including glass or plastic bottles, coolers, cans or flasks; laser pens and pointers; drones or unmanned aircraft; animals excepting trained service animals and all illegal substances.

Parking Information

Parking is first-come, first-served with lots opening at 1 p.m. Gates to the concert will open at 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to allow significant additional time for parking.

Signage and traffic control officers will direct guests to available lots, beginning with those closest to the stadium and continuing until all lots are filled. Routes will change as lots fill.

A parking fee of $20 will be assessed for spaces in the lots closest to Scott Stadium, with a $10 fee for outlying lots. All fees are cash-only.

First-come, first-served parking for guests with disabilities is located in the Scott Stadium West and East Lots.

Taxis and ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft will drop riders off on McCormick Road between Alderman Road and the McCormick Road ramp, in front of the UVA dorms on McCormick Road.

Guests may tailgate (no cooking) in the parking lots, however, public consumption of alcohol is not permitted.

For more information and updates prior to the event, please continue to check the Concert for Charlottesville website.
