MEDIA ADVISORY UPDATE: Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus Available for Interviews

September 17, 2009 — Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Peace laureate known by many as the "father of microfinance," will speak Sunday at the University of Virginia's University Hall. Yunus' talk – free and open to the public – is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Yunus and Grameen bank, which he founded, were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. In August, he was invited to the White House along with 15 others and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.
