Researchers Invited to Apply for State Commercialization Funding by Dec. 17

University researchers and entrepreneurs are invited to apply for 2013 funding through the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund. Administered by the state’s Center for Innovative Technology on behalf of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority, the fund “advances science- and technology-based research, development and commercialization to drive economic growth” in Virginia.

U.Va. researchers and affiliated companies were awarded approximately $2.3 million in the fund’s first two cycles, as announced in January and July.

The fund includes five distinct programs, offering commercialization, facilities enhancement and matching funds support, which will make awards of up to $350,000. Eligibility varies by program. Mandatory letters of intent are due Dec. 17.

See the fund’s 2013 solicitation for information and submission details.
