UPDATE: The full text and video of President Sullivan's address is now available

University of Virginia President Teresa A. Sullivan will meet with students today regarding recent events that have generated deep concern across Grounds and beyond.

Sullivan’s remarks will continue recent discussions concerning sexual assault, University and fraternity culture, and U.Va.’s path forward. The address, which begins at noon, will be made available via livestream online.

“Because many students, faculty and staff have been away on Thanksgiving break, and considering the gravity of these discussions, I believe it is important to make this conversation available to the broader University community,” Sullivan said. “I plan to keep members of the University updated as we work toward solutions.”

“My commitment is to focus my energy on working to make this the safest environment for everyone,” Sullivan said. “We are going to work to find answers to many questions, and take appropriate action. And we are going to begin the healing process.”
