University Announces Ticket Information for Tina Fey Address on Sept. 14

University of Virginia alumna Tina Fey – actress, comedian, writer, producer and star of NBC’s “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” – will return to Grounds this fall to kick off a new speaker series highlighting the positive impact of arts on society.

Her appearance, set for Sept. 14 at 8:15 p.m., will be the inaugural address of the President’s Speaker Series for the Arts. The event will take place at the University’s McIntire Amphitheatre, located on McCormick Road on Central Grounds.

Admission Information

The event is open to members of the University community and the general public.

Seating at McIntire Amphitheatre will include both general admission and reserved seating. General admission seating does not require a ticket and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. General admission seating will open on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m.

Reserved Seating and University Ticket Lottery

A limited number of reserved seating tickets will be allocated via a one-day lottery to current U.Va. students, faculty and staff. To enter the ticket lottery, members of the University community must submit their names, contact information and other details using a lottery web entry form. Entries will be accepted Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. NetBadge login or University ID and password required to access entry form.

IMPORTANT: Only one ticket will be awarded per winning entry. Each student, faculty member or staff member may submit a ticket entry only once. Tickets are not transferable.

Those whose names are selected will be notified by email by noon on Wednesday.

Ticket Pickup

Tickets for those who have received notice of selection must be picked up at the University Arts Box Office, located in the lobby of the Drama Building at 109 Culbreth Road, between noon and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.  A University ID will be required to pick up tickets.

Parking Information

Free parking will be available in U.Va. parking lots located along Whitehead Road near Scott Stadium. University Transit Service and the CAT Free Trolley have routes that will serve the venue. Parking also is available in the University’s Central Grounds Parking Garage located on Emmet Street, under the U.Va. Bookstore. An hourly fee will apply and this facility is expected to fill.

Parking for people with disabilities is available on a first-come, first-served basis along McCormick Road and in front of Bryan Hall. A valid DMV disabled parking plate or placard is required.

Traffic is expected to be heavy due to several scheduled events.  Allow extra time.

Important Inclement Weather Information

In the event of inclement weather, the address will be moved from the McIntire Amphitheatre to the Old Cabell Hall Auditorium. A decision to move the venue to Old Cabell Hall will be made by 4 p.m. on Sept. 14.

Due to the limited space in Old Cabell Hall, only those individuals with reserved seating tickets will be admitted. Doors to Old Cabell Hall will open at 7 p.m. Ticket and ID will be required for entry. Reserved tickets are not transferrable. Once inside the building, guests will not be allowed to exit and return for any reason.
