The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University and Harvard University were Nos. 1, 2 and 3.
The report listed the University’s 95% graduation rate as the highest among all public schools, a distinction it has held since 2003.
U.S. News also ranked the University No. 4 among public schools for veterans.
UVA’s undergraduate teaching programs, a measure of how well a university’s undergraduate programs provide teaching and learning experiences, shot up 14 spots to No. 3 among all public schools.
U.S. News ranks colleges using measures of academic quality and student success, including graduation rates, faculty resources, peer assessments, financial investment, social mobility and graduates’ earnings.
The rankings come one month after Time Magazine named UVA the No. 2 public university in America. Also in August, Niche, a college and school search platform that combines federal data with student and alumni reviews, ranked UVA the No. 3 public school.
