News in Brief: UVAFinance Welcomes New Associate VP of Operations

Olga N. Weider has been appointed to serve as the University of Virginia’s associate vice president of financial operations and University controller. She will start her new job on Jan. 22.

Weider joins UVAFinance with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in financial management, having served as assistant vice president/university controller at the University of Florida. She holds an MBA from Louisiana State University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Florida.

“I am excited to be a part of the University of Virginia Finance team,” Weider said. “Together we will make a long-lasting impact in support of the University community.”

Jennifer “J.J.” Wagner Davis. UVA’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said Weider’s experience and leadership will serve UVA well.

“She brings a strong foundation of financial leadership and a deep understanding of the complexities of higher education finance. I look forward to seeing her thrive with the team,” Davis said.

In her new role, Weider will oversee and optimize operational functions within UVAFinance. She will work directly with Augie Maurelli, vice president for finance and chief financial officer.

“Olga’s strategic mindset and commitment to best practices make her an excellent fit for UVAFinance,” Maurelli said.
