Albemarle County has created a Broadband Task Force to determine how high-speed Internet access – known as “broadband” – might be extended to underserved parts of the county, and the task force is asking University of Virginia employees who live in the county to fill out a survey to identify and analyze demand.

“It is critical that all county residents and business owners, particularly those in rural areas, participate in the survey in order to establish important baseline data,” according to a county press release. 

The survey is available online here. For those with limited access to the Internet, a physical copy of the survey will be distributed at various locations around the county.

The task force will collect and analyze survey responses through June. A report outlining the next steps will be published in July.

The Broadband Task Force includes representatives from the county, service providers, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission and U.Va., as well as several county residents. For information, click here.
