University of Virginia students, faculty and staff can now replace their plastic academic ID cards with an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet mobile ID to unlock doors, pay for meals and access University services, all without unlocking their phones or watches.
Using the new mobile credential is encouraged, but optional. New students can choose between a physical ID or the app. Current students, faculty and staff can still use their academic ID cards; however, if they enroll in mobile credentials through the Atrium Campus Connect app, their physical ID cards will no longer work.
The instructions for how to download the Atrium Campus Connect app and enroll in mobile credentials can be found on the UVA Cavalier Card ID Office’s website.
