The University of Virginia on Friday launched a website for community members on Grounds and across the country to contribute to the search for UVA’s 10th president and to track the effort’s progress.
The presidential search website includes links for community input, submitting applications or nominations, and for general questions. It also includes information on the members of the Special Committee on the Nomination of a President and the subcommittees created to increase community engagement. Visitors to the website will also be able to view the phases of the process and the special committee’s progress toward finding and hiring the University’s next leader.
Executive recruitment firm Isaacson, Miller is assisting the special committee. The agency’s members’ biographies are also on the website.
“Every member of the Special Committee is honored to be part of this work, and we are confident that together with UVA’s entire community, we will find a leader who reflects the best of UVA and who is prepared to lead it forward,” the members wrote in a statement sent after their first meeting Aug. 22. “To everyone who has reached out, shared feedback, or asked thoughtful questions: thank you. Your voice matters, and we hope you will continue to stay engaged. Let’s move forward with a shared commitment to the future of UVA and to all it can be.”
