Each day, the sun dips behind the Blue Ridge Mountains a little earlier. While that’s a bummer to some, it also means students with late-afternoon classes at the University of Virginia get to see this breathtaking view on their way home.
Erin Edgerton, one of UVA Communications’ drone pilots, recently snapped this photo, one of the last times you’ll see sunset after 5 p.m. until Dec. 25. By Tuesday, the sun will dip below the horizon at 4:59 p.m. as daylight hours continue to contract, leading up to the winter solstice on Dec. 21.
