News In Brief: Halloween Magic Returns With Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn

Get ready for a night when ghosts, witches and superheroes come together to celebrate Halloween in Hoo style. Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn returns to the University of Virginia on Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.

UVA students established the event in the late 1980s to welcome area children and families to Grounds. Residents of the Lawn and members of student organizations will distribute treats donated by student groups and other organizations from all 54 Lawn rooms and the Range.

Free parking will be available beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the John Paul Jones Arena garage, South Lot and West Lot. Starting at 4 p.m., guests may also park for free in the Culbreth Road Garage. Paid hourly parking will also be available in the Central Grounds Parking Garage on Emmet Street.

Don’t miss our coverage of the annual event, capturing all the spooktacular fun in the Nov. 1 edition of the UVA Today Daily Report.
