UVA Health officials have appointed Cindy Bo, the former chief strategy officer for Boston Medical Center Health System, to serve as the first head of UVA Health Children’s.
Bo will oversee operations and staff at the children’s hospital, including patient care, strategy, finance and efforts to expand access for patients across Virginia and beyond. She begins her new role Monday.
Bo has more than 25 years of experience working in health care, including consulting and pharmaceutical companies. She also serves on the board of several children’s health organizations.
“With exceptional expertise in strategic planning, business development, process improvement and team building, Cindy is an ideal candidate for this role,” Wendy Horton, chief executive officer of UVA Health University Medical Center, said.
“I’m looking forward to working with all these impressive team members to find additional ways to ensure every patient who needs the care of our specialists can get it,” Bo said.
