Barbara A. Kelly, assistant athletic director, was honored as one of 100 "Incredible ECU Women" at a special program on Oct. 17 at East Carolina University. She was recognized as a pioneer and builder of women's athletics through achievements such as coaching U.Va.'s first two women's basketball teams (1973-1975) and being the founder and inaugural tournament director (in 1977) for the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament.
The University produced 12 Fulbright scholars last year and 33 over the past three years, earning recognition from the U.S. State Department.
