UVA Today is produced by the University News unit of the Office of University Communications. University News tells the University's stories to the world through news and feature articles, videos, photography and on social media platforms. Working with communicators across Grounds, our staff of communications professionals provides insight into the endless pursuit of better at the University's 11 schools, the Medical Center, and its many institutes, centers and programs. University News produces UVA Today and the UVA Today Daily Report, along with media advisories and press releases.
In addition, University News connects the University to the wider community by distributing press releases and seeking to attract positive media coverage about UVA news. News associates reach out to faculty to respond to inquiries from local and national media, acquaint media with UVA experts who can comment on breaking news, and assist in the editing and distribution of faculty-written op-eds.
