Apply by Feb. 1 for Dissertation-Year Fellowships

January 23, 2008 — The University of Virginia Faculty Senate is offering up to seven dissertation-year fellowships for graduate students this year. 

Awarded across the University, the fellowships will fund the final year of doctoral work — approximately $25,000, including tuition, fees, health insurance and stipend. Funding is provided by the Office of the Vice President and Provost, the Curry School of Education, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the College of Arts & Sciences, among others.

Candidates must be performing research toward a productive scholarly career and have established a strong teaching record, indicating high promise as instructors. 

The deadline for applying for the fellowships is Feb. 1.
