After a torrential downpour over Charlottesville, members of the University of Virginia’s Class of 2025, with the help of their families, began moving into dorms across Grounds on Wednesday morning. In his new room in Echols House on McCormick Road, first-year student Lucas Hyman, of Atlanta, posed with his parents as they unloaded his belongings.

Move-in for incoming first-year students continues through Thursday; new transfer students will move in on Friday. In total, the University is welcoming 4,631 first-year and transfer students to Grounds this fall.
