It’s almost time for Kate Tamarkin to pass the baton, but she’s already busy starting an upbeat new movement. The music director and conductor of the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia will be retiring in the spring of 2017 after a decade at the helm. Audience members can see her in front of the symphony for the rest of the current season, and for the first and final concerts of the 2016-17 season.
