Oct. 18, 2007 — University employees eligible to receive benefits may receive a free flu vaccination at one of several clinics, beginning Oct. 22 and running through Nov. 9.
A complete listing of times and locations is available at www.hrs.virginia.edu/news. UVA-WorkMed staff will administer the vaccine at multiple times and locations across Grounds to make it as convenient as possible.
If you have clinical questions regarding the vaccine and who should or should not get the shot, call 243-0076. UVA-WorkMed cannot administer the vaccine to pregnant women without a note from your doctor.
If you are not sure if you are eligible to receive the shot, please call the Office of Employee Benefits at 924-4392.
"Yearly influenza immunizations are important," said Susan Carkeek, vice president for human resources. "Please consider taking the vaccine this year. It is one of the easiest and best ways to protect yourselves and your friends, families and co-workers from seasonal illness."
