IM-Rec Sports Introduces Hoo's Well@

January 24, 2011 — The University of Virginia's Intramural-Recreational Sports is offering a new employee wellness initiative, Hoo's Well@, a 10-week, holistic program for improving physical, emotional and mental health. Registration closes Jan. 28, and sections are filling up.

From Feb. 1 to April 17, the program sessions, to be held three days a week, are led by trained professionals from different areas of U.Va. and focus on muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness and wellness education.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, two sections are offered at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, either from noon to 1 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. in multipurpose room 4. Three sections are scheduled at the North Grounds Recreation Center's multipurpose room 1, also on the same days: from 6 to 7 a.m., noon to 1 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m.

The fee is $45 for IM-Rec members and $55 for non-members.

Registration is under way for all of IM-Rec's spring fitness and recreation programs.
