While artists and audiences were enjoying last month’s opening festivities of the TARNANTHI exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia, there was another layer of activity going on behind closed doors – one that was equally important to growing the legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island artists. A delegate of curators and museums professionals from the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia, in America, were gathered to lay plans for a collaboration that would include residencies and a joint touring exhibition across America.
