March 19, 2012 — University of Virginia students who are planning to study, live or work abroad can take advantage of a series of free weekly seminars intended to help demystify and enrich the experience.
The International Studies Office is again offering its popular seminar series, beginning Tuesday at 5 p.m. and running Tuesdays through April 17.
CORE, or Cultural Orientation, Reflection and Engagement, is offered in collaboration with the Department of Anthropology and the interdisciplinary Global Development Studies Program, both of which are based in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Topics include ways to avoid stereotypes and miscommunication across cultures.
