A legislative fix that would honor Army Capt. Humayun Khan as intended has passed the U.S. Senate. A contract postal unit on McCormick Road honors the only University of Virginia graduate killed in action during the Iraq War. The problem was that then-Rep. Tom Garrett, R-5th, said he meant to name a full-sized facility after Khan. Another Garrett bill designating a Palmyra facility as the U.S. Navy Seaman Dakota Kyle Rigsby Post Office was signed into law in July.
