Ralph A Lowry, 81, of Charlottesville, Virginia died Monday, October 15, 2007, after a long illness. Lowry joined the faculty at University of Virginia in 1955. From 1965 until 1972, he was department chairman of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Physics. Mr. Lowry was awarded the John L. Necomb Chair in 1978. He was associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research from 1986 until his retirement in 1991.
