Nov. 24, 2009 — William Francis O'Dell, a former faculty member of the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia, died Nov. 11 in Ft. Myers, Fla. He was 100.

The founder and long-time chairman of Market Facts Inc., an international marketing research firm headquartered in Chicago, he taught at the Commerce School from 1965 to 1977. A professorship was endowed in his name in 1983. He authored or co-authored several books on business decision-making and human relations.
