Sept. 21, 2006 — The University of Virginia’s John Paul Jones Arena will host Dave Matthews Band for two sold-out performances as part of the building’s “Grand Opening” on Friday, Sept. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006. For guests attending these highly anticipated events, John Paul Jones Arena has identified parking options which include reserved parking in lots adjacent to the Arena (advance passes still available) as well as general options within walking distance.

Advance Parking Options:

• Reserved parking in JOHN PAUL JONES ARENA PARKING GARAGE, SURFACE LOT and U-HALL EAST LOT requires a pre-purchased parking pass - $14.35 (plus convenience fees) per vehicle. Advance parking passes ensure direct and easy access to the parking lots and garage adjacent to the Arena. JPJ Surface Lot & Garage open at 3:00PM on Friday and Saturday. U-Hall East Lot will open at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday. Pre-purchase parking passes are available at John Paul Jones Arena box office, online at the JPJ Web site, at all Plan 9 Music store locations, or charge by phone at 1-888-

Event Day Parking Options:
• Parking in the U-HALL WEST LOT will be sold at the lot gates the evening of the event and can be purchased with cash only - $15 per vehicle. Lot is located adjacent to U-Hall, across the street from the Arena, and spaces are on a first-come, first served basis. Lot opens at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday.

• Parking in the UVA EMMET/IVY GARAGE - $10 per vehicle.
Garage is located on the corner of Emmet Street and Ivy Road and is within a 10-15 minute walk of the Arena. Garage spaces are on a first come, first served basis. Garage available at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday.

• Parking in the UVA CENTRAL GROUNDS GARAGE – Hourly fees apply. Garage is located off of Emmet Street, about a block south of the intersection with University Avenue, and is within a 15-20 minute walk of the Arena. Garage spaces are on a first come, first served basis. Garage available at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday.

• Parking in the LAW SCHOOL LOTS is available for general event parking for both nights – No pass required. Lots are located on North Grounds and are within a 15-20 minute walk of the Arena. Lot will open at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday night.

• Parking in the UVA FACILITIES MANAGEMENT (LEAKE BUILDING) LOTS is available for general event parking for both nights – No pass required. Lot is located on Alderman Road between McCormick Road and Ivy Road and is within a 15-20 minute walk of the Arena. Lot will open at 5:30PM on Friday and 3:00PM on Saturday night.

• Parking at ST. ANNE’S – BELFIELD SCHOOL is available for general event parking for both nights – cost $10. School is located off of Ivy Road, between Alderman Road and Colonnade Drive, and is within a 15-20 minute walk of the Arena. Lot will open at 5:30PM on Friday and 5:30pmPM on Saturday night.

• Parking in the DARDEN SCHOOL LOTS AND GARAGE is available for general event parking for Saturdays performance ONLY – No pass required. Lots and garage are located on North Grounds and are within a 15-20 minute walk of the Arena. Lot will open at 5:30PM and will ONLY be available for event parking on Saturday night.

Options for people with disabilities:

• Parking for guests with disabilities is located on level three (the unexposed portion) of the parking garage adjacent to the Arena. Accessible parking spots are on a first come, first served basis. Parking passes are required to access these spaces.

• Accessible drop-off locations are located along John Paul Jones Arena side of Massie Road between Emmet Street and Copeley Road.

Bus and Limo Parking:

• Guests planning to arrive by bus or limousine must make prior arrangements with John Paul Jones Arena’s Event Services manager at (434) 243-2078.

The following are directions to John Paul Jones Arena for guests coming from all areas.
From points NORTH of Charlottesville like Washington D.C., travel on 29 South toward Charlottesville:

1. Continue on 29 South Business past the exit for the 29/250 Bypass.
2. Just past the signal at Wise Street, follow event signs to available parking.

Alternative Route
1. Exit onto the 29 South/250 West Bypass toward Lynchburg, Staunton, Richmond.
2. Take 2nd exit onto Route 250 East Business.
3. After 2nd signal, follow event signs to available parking.

From points EAST of Charlottesville like Richmond, travel on Interstate 64 toward Charlottesville.
1. Exit onto Route 29 North at Exit 118B.
2. Take 3rd exit onto the North Grounds Connector.
3. Follow event signs to available parking.

Alternative Route 1
1. Exit onto Route 250 West at Exit 124 toward Charlottesville.
2. Remain on Route 250 West for 4.6 miles through several traffic signals. Exit left onto Route 29 South.
3. After 3rd signal, follow event signs to available parking.

Alternative Route 2
1. Exit onto Route 250 West at Exit 124 toward Charlottesville.
2. Instead of exiting onto Route 29 South, continue on 250 West to the second exit past Route 29 South. Exit onto Route 250 East Business and after 2nd signal, follow event signs to available parking.

From points SOUTH of Charlottesville like Lynchburg, travel on Route 29 North toward Charlottesville:
1. Remain on Route 29 North past the I64 interchange:
2. Take 3rd exit past I64 onto the North Grounds Connector.
3. Follow event signs to available parking.

1. Take the 2nd exit past I64 onto Route 250 East Business.
2. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto Route 250 East Business.
