Tucked away down an inconspicuous rural lane in the seaside village of Oyster is the home of one of the longest-running coastal research projects in the nation — the Virginia Coast Reserve Long Term Ecological Research project. The UVA Anheuser-Busch Coastal Research Center, directed by Cora Johnston, houses the project, among its other missions.
