The University of Virginia on Tuesday honored 18 faculty members and five graduate students with awards recognizing their creative instruction and meaningful contributions to the University, and their public service.
The University Teaching Awards are among the highest honors given to faculty members who have distinguished themselves both in the classroom and in their fields.
“It is a true joy to honor our faculty and graduate students for outstanding teaching and public service, just as we recognized our colleagues’ research achievements earlier this year. The recipients of these awards exemplify the University’s commitment to providing a world-class education and to public service,” Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Brie Gertler said. “Working alongside them to advance our mission is a privilege.”
