April 7, 2010 — One of the three lanes of traffic on Jefferson Park Avenue, in the vicinity of the University of Virginia's South Lawn Project, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 12 through April 14.
This will leave two traffic lanes open during the installation of metal ceiling panels and a steel handrail for the terrace that crosses Jefferson Park Avenue. The lanes will be marked with cones, and traffic will be monitored by construction personnel.
Two lanes of traffic will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 15 through April 21, leaving one lane of alternating traffic, controlled by flagmen. This work will take place only at night and traffic flow will be normal during the day.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane from April 22 to April 26 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate the final phase of the installation, leaving one lane of alternating traffic, controlled by flagmen.
The work is weather dependent.
Maps of the lane changes are available on the U.Va. Community Relations Web site.
