Video: Homecoming Crowds Flock to ‘Pancakes for Parkinson’s’ Event

Students stand in line to buy pancakes that are being cooked and served by students

University of Virginia student-organizers of the annual “Pancakes for Parkinson’s” fundraiser found success where a year’s worth of preparation met with incredible good fortune in the form of a brilliant autumn Saturday.

Large crowds of students and alumni in town for the Homecomings Weekend football game against the University of North Carolina flocked to Saturday’s event on the historic Lawn, eagerly gobbling pancakes prepared by several student organizations while also enjoying several entertainment offerings.

The proceeds were still being tallied on Monday, but the event appeared to be on track to meet or exceed its goal of raising $65,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
