Virginia Tech Review Panel to Hold Next Public Meeting at University of Virginia

July 6, 2007 — The panel reviewing the tragic events of April 16 at Virginia Tech will hold its final public meeting Wednesday in the Abbott Center Auditorium at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the meeting beginning at 9 a.m. and scheduled to conclude at 3:30 p.m.

Much of the meeting is open to the public. The panel will hear from representatives of a statewide campus police organization and from experts in mental health care and related legal issues. Among those offering their testimony will be Richard Bonnie, director of U.Va.’s Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy and chairman of the Commonwealth Commission on Mental Health Law, and Russell Federman, director of U.Va.’s Smith Memorial Center for Counseling and Psychological Services.
