Members of the University of Virginia’s leadership team will host a virtual town hall Friday at 3 p.m. to discuss issues related to the current status of the coronavirus and the University's response to recent increases in positive cases.

The town hall is open to students, faculty, staff, parents and community members. Participants can register here and submit questions beforehand.

We can do this. Keep going, UVA.

President Jim Ryan will join members of the University’s executive leadership team, including Provost Liz Magill, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer J.J. Davis; Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Allen Groves; and medical experts, including Director of Hospital Epidemiology Dr. Costi Sifri; Henry Mulholland Professor of Medicine and Department of Medicine Chair Dr. Mitch Rosner; and Dr. Taison Bell, an assistant professor of medicine in the divisions of Infectious Diseases and International Health and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

On Tuesday, UVA announced the implementation of new health and safety restrictions in response to a recent rise in COVID-19 cases among students.

The new restrictions took effect Tuesday evening and will remain in place through at least Feb. 26, when University leaders will re-evaluate them based on case numbers and other data at that time.

The webinar can be viewed online here.
