Media Relations tells the University's stories not only to media, but also faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni and friends. Working with communicators around Grounds, our staff of communications professionals provides insight into teaching and learning, research and scholarship, patient care, public service and student experience at the University's 11 schools, the Medical Center, and its many institutes, centers and programs. Media Relations produces UVA Today, UVA Today Daily Report, UVA Today News Blog and weekly radio and TV shows, along with media advisories and press releases.
The University's News Releases site is updated regularly. You can sort the releases by topic and school and can search by topic or name. News Releases on this site often include downloadable high resolution photographs as well as links to audio and video content.
The University's Office of Media Relations produces and distributes Media Advisories to alert members of the print, broadcast and online media to upcoming University of Virginia events. These advisories are sent out in advance of special University events, major functions and other potentially newsworthy activities that are open to the media or the public. To receive U.Va. Media Advisories by email, please send your name, media affiliation and email address to Dan Heuchert, Assistant Director of Media Relations.
