The University of Virginia Art Museum presents a special exhibit featuring work of Mesoamerican artists. "In the Land of the Corn God: Mesoamerican Art from the Collection" which will open Saturday June 9 and run through Sunday, Aug. 5, includes works in the collection representing the Olmec, Zapotec, Teotihucan, Maya, Mixtec, Huastec Pipil, Totonac, Toltec, Tarascan and Aztec civilizations from central Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua.

The exhibit, curated by Andrea Douglas, curator of collections and exhibitions, is sponsored by the University's Art$ Dollars program.

The University of Virginia Art Museum is located at 155 Rugby Road, and is open Tuesday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission.
