Sept. 20, 2006 -- The University of Virginia's Center for Global Health is hosting the CEO of the Global Health Council, Nils Daulaire, at its Sept. 22 symposium, Celebrating Global Health: Pathways to the Future.
Dr. Daulaire will speak about the state of global health and emerging opportunities in the field. In addition, world-renowned enteric infections expert and Center for Global Health (CGH) founder and director Richard Guerrant, M.D., will deliver remarks.
Four Center for Global Health scholars will also deliver presentations on their just-completed projects in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia. Several other scholars will have poster presentations, and faculty mentors and researchers will talk with students interested in pursuing global health projects.
U.Va.'s Center for Global Health has been at the forefront of efforts to promote health in resource-limited settings by fostering the commitment of students, faculty and partners from many disciplines to address the diseases of poverty.
