The University of Virginia’s ninth president, Jim Ryan, will be inaugurated Friday on the Lawn. The event will last from 3 to 4:30 p.m., with a public reception to follow on the north plaza of the Rotunda. In case of rain, the event will take place at John Paul Jones Arena.
