A longtime volunteer coordinator who has connected college students with community needs at several universities has been named the new executive director of Madison House, a Charlottesville nonprofit that pairs University of Virginia students with regional volunteer opportunities.
According to the Madison House Board of Directors, Mary Denlinger brings more than 20 years of community engagement experience to the role. She has previously served in similar roles at James Madison University, George Mason University, Georgetown University, Elon University and Gonzaga University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mary to Madison House,” said Sherri Moore, co-chair of the board of directors. “Her proven track record of developing and sustaining community partnerships that enhance student learning and address essential community needs aligns perfectly with the culture of public service at UVA and our commitment to developing lifelong citizen-leaders.”
Denlinger will start June 10. She succeeds Wayne Cozart, who served as interim executive director.
