Grammy-winning country musicians Zac Brown Band and Grammy nominee Maggie Rogers will be hitting the UVA stage.
The musicians, along with comedian Joe Zimmerman, will perform at a concert benefitting the University of Virginia’s Contemplative Sciences Center. They’ll take the spotlight on April 5 at 8 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
Zac Brown last performed at JPJ in 2019. Since then, he’s joined the likes of Paul McCartney and Billy Joel in the Fenway Music Hall of Fame. Rogers, who performed in Charlottesville in 2017, was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the Grammys in 2020. Zimmerman has appeared on “Conan” and “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”
The Contemplative Sciences Center was established in 2012 to catalyze research and programs focused on contemplation, connection and well-being. It’s housed in the Contemplative Commons, which will open to the public this spring, and will serve as a hub for research and programming to support the flourishing of students, members of the UVA community and the public.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Proceeds from the concert will support the center’s programming and operations.
