It was a night to remember and a result that’s catapulted the University of Virginia football team into the national picture.
UVA’s wild, double-overtime 46-38 win over eighth-ranked Florida State University on Friday at Scott Stadium was enough to push the Cavaliers into the Associated Press Top 25.
The Wahoos, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC, are No. 24 in the latest AP poll, marking their first appearance in the rankings since 2019. The FSU win was the program’s first over a Top 10 opponent at home since knocking off the fourth-ranked Seminoles in 2005. It came nearly 30 years after the Hoos upset No. 2 FSU at Scott Stadium.
Virginia next travels to face the University of Louisville Cardinals (4-0, 1-0 ACC) on Saturday. Kickoff from L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium in Kentucky is set for 3:30 p.m. ESPN2 will broadcast the game.
But before looking ahead, let’s go back once more and relive our favorite scenes from a memorable evening at Scott Stadium.
