Annual Teaching Workshop Focuses on 'Getting Connected'

August 10, 2011 — "Getting Connected" is the theme of the University of Virginia Teaching Resource Center's August Teaching Workshop, being held Aug. 16 and 17. The annual event provides an opportunity for faculty members and graduate students to share ideas and expertise on teaching and learning, as well as to meet and network with other faculty members across Grounds.

Michele DiPietro, co-author of "How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching," published in 2010, will lead the interactive plenary session on Aug. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Old Cabell Hall auditorium.

Concurrent sessions follow and cover a variety of topics, including teaching the first few days of class, writing effective lectures and presentations and exploring digital technology methods. View the entire program here.

Participants may register at the door. There is no registration fee.
