Contractors recently began work on the demolition of Sponsors Hall at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, in preparation for the construction of a new Inn at Darden and Conference Center for Lifelong Learning.

Plans for the new facility call for nearly 200 hotel rooms; 12,000 square feet of meeting, innovation and learning space, including a 6,500 square-foot ballroom; a destination restaurant; a lounge and café; and an outdoor green space and arboretum, with contemplative spaces and walking trails that will connect Darden and the School of Law on North Grounds. The project will also enhance C. Ray Smith Alumni Hall for the Darden community.

Completion of the inn is expected in 2023.
