Employees to be Recognized for 10 to 50 Years of Service

May 28, 2009 — Day in and day out, employees rack up years of service for the University of Virginia. Those workers with 10, 15 or 20 years on the job will be honored at a ceremony to be held May 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the John Paul Jones Arena. This group of 739 employees has devoted 10,265 years of service to U.Va.

This year's 11 Outstanding Contribution Award winners – five from the Academic Division, five from the Health System and one from U.Va.-Wise – also will be recognized.

Those employees who have reached 25 or more years of service will be honored June 10 at a dinner at the Boar's Head Inn. Two employees, Edward Morris and Louella J. Walker, have clocked in 50 years.
