May 29, 2009 — University of Virginia workers with 10, 15 or 20 years on the job were honored at a ceremony held today in the John Paul Jones Arena.
This year's 11 Outstanding Contribution Award winners – five from the Academic Division, five from the Health System and one from U.Va.-Wise – also were recognized.
Those employees who have reached 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 years of service will be honored June 10 at a dinner at the Boar's Head Inn. Two of those employees, Edward Morris and Louella J. Walker, have clocked in 50 years.
Among them, the 1,143 honorees have devoted 22,270 years of service to U.Va.
